What to Wear for Family Photos | Outfit Inspiration for Your Next Session
One of the most common questions I get before a session is, "What should we wear?"
And I completly understand! Choosing outfits for the entire family can feel overwhelming, especially when you want everyone to coordinate without looking too matchy.
My biggest piece of advice? Keep it simple, comfortable, and true to your family's style.
Start With a Soft, Coordinating Color Palette
I love neutral tones, soft earth colors, and subtle textures that complement the beautiful Wyoming landscapes. Think creams, warm browns, muted greens, dusty blues, and soft blush tones.
Rather than dressing everyone in the exact same color, choose a palette of three or four complementary shades.
Mix Textures & Layers
Flowy dresses, cozy knits, linen, and subtle patterns photograph beautifully. Mixing textures adds dimension to your photos without distracting from the people in them.
Choose Timeless Over Trendy
When you look back at your family photos years from now, I want you to love them just as much as you do today.
Choose pieces that feel natural, comfortable, and effortlessly beautiful.

Because the most beautiful photos are the ones where you feel completely yourself.
